For the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel’s festival Bach to Mendelssohn, Anna will be playing Mendelssohn’s violin concerto in E minor with Flanders Symphony orchestra, at the famous Flagey hall in Brussels, Belgium.
Anna will perform Beethoven’s violin concerto with Copenhagen Phil - a concert that was postponed multiple times because of covid, but which will now finally take place! At this event, pianist Gustav Piekut will also play a Beethoven concerto, and both will be awarded the Gladsaxe Musikpris on stage afterwards.
The lesser known concerto for violin, piano and strings by Felix Mendelssohn was composed when he was still a teenager. Together with conductor and pianist Vahan Mardirossian and Wallonia Chamber Orchestra, Anna Agafia will attempt to bring back the youthful innocence and charm, Mendelssohn appeared to have then.
Anna is taking part in the 2021 Aarhus chamber music festival, where she will play music by Franck, Schoenberg, Bridge, Mendelssohn and Murphy together with Jonathan Swensen, Quatuor Arod, Dina Ivanova and others.
