Ysaÿe International Music Competition

Anna Egholm receives 2nd prize at the inaugural Ysaÿe International Music Competition, in the violin category C.

In memory of the great violinist Eugene Ysaÿe, the organizers of this violin and chamber music competition, Elena Lavrenov and Ashot Khachatourian, wish to create a high level competition for young musicians. The competition’s goal is to develop culture in Liège and give a chance for musicians from all around the world to show their talent.


Registration is open to violinists and chamber music groups from all over the world, and a total of 74 candidates were accepted into the competition’s violin category C this first year.

Three prizes are awarded per category, by a jury consisting of worldwide renowned musicians.
